Healdsburg Museum

Houses the historical collections donated to the City of Healdsburg
Impressive range of artifacts related to northern Sonoma County history, such as Pomo Indian basketry, nineteenth century weapons, tools, textiles, and crafts
Extensive archival library includes some 8,000 original photographs
Location: 221 Matheson Street in Healdsburg
Open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 pm. Free guided tours are available for groups by appointment.

Jesse Peter Museum

Houses collections of ethnographic art from throughout the Americas and parts of Africa, Asia, and the Pacific
Permanent exhibits include Pomo roundhouse model and basketry, Plains and Plateau, Southwest Jewelry, Hopi Pueblo model with Kachina Dolls, and Pueblo pottery
Location: Bussman Hall on the campus of Santa Rosa Junior College, 1501 Mendocino Avenue in Santa Rosa
Open mid-August to mid-May, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed on all school holidays and during the summer

Petaluma Adobe State Historic Park

Open daily 10:00am-5:00am (building begins to close at 4:30pm)
Admission is $3 per adult (18+), $2 per child (6-17yrs old) and free for children 5 and under.

Petaluma Historical Library and Museum

Former library now houses exhibits of Petaluma poultry, dairy, and Miwok Indian history from the 1850s

Sonoma State Historic Park

Mission San Francisco Solano is the northernmost mission in Alta California, the only mission built during the Mexican period, and the last of California’s 21 missions, built in 1823.
The Barracks were constructed by General Vallejo in 1834.
Within the barracks is a museum with artifacts from the Mexican period in California and a replica of soldiers’ quarters
The Vallejo Home, built in 1851, was General Vallejo’s “Yankee-style” home. He had the prefabricated home shipped around the Cape. Guided tours are offered.
