Anderson Marsh State Historic Park

Clear Lake State Park

• Hikers enjoy the Indian Nature Trail, a self-guided trail that shows how the Pomo people, who lived in the area for centuries, utilized the area’s resources. The trail passes through the site of what was once a Pomo village.
• The visitor center features displays about the area’s natural and cultural history.

Lake County Historic Courthouse Museum

• Permanent exhibits include one of the largest collections of Pomo Indian baskets found in California and a collection of food processing tools.
• Just opened is the “Mystery and History of Clear Lake,” an exhibit that traces the lake’s last 500,000 years.
• The museum, with the help of the Friends of the Museum, is sponsoring a monthly lecture series called “The World of Archaeology.” Call ahead for lecture topics, dates, and locations.
