SCA Newsletter
Information for Authors
The SCA publishes a quarterly on-line newsletter of articles and information essential to California archaeology. Beginning with the next edition, the SCA Newsletter goes online with Stella D'Oro and Jennifer Farquhar of Albion Environmental serving as managing editors. The new format omits the longer articles of the past, as these have been redirected to the journal, California Archaeology. Contributions are welcome. News, announcements, and articles are welcome. The Newsletter will average about six pages, and include:
  • Candid photos suitable for a public forum
  • Liaison quarterly reports not to exceed 200 words in length
  • A President’s Message of 400 – 600 words
  • A student members profile and one-line transition statements
  • Schedules, events, and meeting dates
  • Status of projects
The board is also considering and Ethics/Advise column, proposed name: Corner Bar and “Grill”, e.g. cross-examination.

No advertising will be included in the Newsletter.

The SCA Executive Board encourages publication of a wide range of opinions on issues pertinent to California archaeology. Opinions, commentary, and editorials appearing in the Newsletter represent the views of the authors, and not necessarily those of the Board or Editor. Lead article authors should be aware that their articles may appear on the SCA web site, unless they request otherwise.
