Cultural Resources Project Manager SWCA Environmental Consultants
SWCA Environmental Consultants is an employee-owned company of environmental professionals who specialize in natural and cultural resource management, environmental planning, and regulatory compliance.
We are seeking a Cultural Resources Project Manager for our Pasadena, California office.
This is a regular, full-time, salaried position that will report to the Cultural Resources Program Director. Pay rate will be based on individual qualifications and experience.
A Project Manager at SWCA has ultimate responsibility for successful execution of a contract, participating in all aspects of projects, including staffing, fieldwork, research, report writing, and review. The PM develops and manages project budgets, participates in marketing and proposal efforts; supervises personnel in the field, office, and laboratory; and works closely with SWCA's managers and directors throughout the company. He or she maintains SWCA's high standard of quality control and takes initiative to resolve problems and create improved procedures. The PM assists in the continuing development of SWCA's cultural resource program and expands SWCA's professional reputation in cultural resources consulting and research throughout California.

Senior Cultural Resources Manager LSA Associates, Inc.
LSA Associates, Inc. (LSA) is seeking a Senior Cultural Resources Manager. The selected individual will manage multidisciplinary projects involving cultural resources management, prehistoric and historical archaeology, history, historical architecture, and traditional cultural properties. Projects will involve inventory, evaluation, and mitigation, which can include directing and conducting archival, background, and technical research; field surveys and excavations; laboratory work; data analysis; and preparation of reports. Tasks will include maintaining client, agency, and Native American relationships; managing budgets and schedules; directing personnel; planning projects; and preparing proposals. Field work will occur primarily in the Southern California area, but may also take place throughout California. The candidate should have the following qualifications: M.A. or M.S. in Cultural Resources Management, Archaeology, Anthropology, or other closely related field, with about 10 years of experience that includes supervision of archival, field, and laboratory research and reporting. Previous project management experience, with an ability to work on multiple projects, is required. Experience in California cultural resources management with a working knowledge of federal and state cultural resources regulatory compliance is necessary. Must be able to meet U.S. Secretary of the Interior and California Department of Transportation professional qualifications standards for prehistoric or historical archaeologist, and must qualify as a Registered Professional Archaeologist. Candidates with geoarchaeological experience are preferred. Archaeological Field Technicians SWCA Environmental Consultants

We are seeking Archaeological Field Technicians for the 2012 field season for our Pasadena, California office. Anticipated fieldwork will occur throughout southern California, including active U.S. military facilities. These are temporary, hourly positions and the candidate will typically work 40 hours per week depending on workload. Some projects include overtime hours or prevailing wage rates. When project travel is required, per diem ($46/day or current federal rate), hotel room accommodations, and field vehicles are provided. Project travel time is paid. Pay rate will be based on individual qualifications and experience.

Temporary GS-7 Archeological Technician Crew Leader Hat Creek Ranger District, Lassen National Forest
The Hat Creek Ranger District, on the Lassen National Forest in Northern California, anticipates hiring one temporary GS-7 archeological technician crew leader. The pay rate is $18.59 per hour. The employee will lead crew members in completing fieldwork and documentation (survey and site forms, GPS/GIS data, and data entry as needed). Major fieldwork duties include archaeological survey, site monitoring, and site recording. Other duties may include participation in tribal consultation, involvement in Passport in Time projects or interpretive activities, or artifact analysis. Temporary GS-5 Archeological Technicians Hat Creek Ranger District, Lassen National Forest
The Hat Creek Ranger District, on the Lassen National Forest in Northern California, anticipates hiring two temporary GS-5 archeological technicians at a pay rate of $15.00 per hour. The work will include fieldwork (most commonly surveying for archeological sites and recording/monitoring sites, with potential for a range of other activities) and office work (including preparing survey and site forms and processing GPS/GIS data). Geoarchaeologist Pacific Legacy, Inc.
Pacific Legacy, Inc., a Cultural Resources Management firm is seeking a Geoarchaeologist to join our staff. The desired candidate's specialty must be in geoarchaeology or geomorphology as it relates to late Pleistocene and Holocene deposits, with an emphasis on the potential for buried archaeological sites and the processes that have affected them. Desirable candidates must also have experience directing field crews, supervising all aspects of analysis and report writing, and exhibit a strong interest in research. Archaeological Technicians The Eldorado National Forest (Summer 2012)
The position will involve a combination of fieldwork and office work, involving both Section 106 (such as fuels, timber, recreation and range projects) and Section 110 projects of the National Historic Preservation Act. The field work will emphasize survey, site recording, and site monitoring. Knowledge and experience with archaeological survey and excavation techniques and methodology is required. Knowledge of historic and prehistoric cultural resources specific to the western Central Sierra Region also required. Candidates must be able to travel, conduct fieldwork for long hours in rugged terrain and, at times, inclement weather and high altitudes and be able to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 lbs.

Anne Ray Internships (working with Native collections) The School for Advanced Research, Indian Arts Research Center
The School for Advanced Research, Indian Arts Research Center (IARC) in Santa Fe, New Mexico offers two nine-month internships (September 1–May 31) to individuals who are recent college graduates, current graduate students, or junior museum professionals interested in furthering their professional museum experience and enhancing their intellectual capacity for contributing to the expanding field and discourse of museum studies. The internships include a $2,200 monthly stipend, housing, book allowance, travel to one professional conference, and reimbursable travel to and from SAR. One internship is open to an indigenous individual from the U.S. or Canada, and one internship is open to any U.S. or Canadian citizen meeting the application requirements.

Archaeologist HDR (San Diego)
Under the supervision of a Crew Chief, Project Archaeologist, or Program Manager, the candidate will be expected to perform survey, testing/data recovery fieldwork, and/or monitoring activities that include distance hiking, field artifact and site identification, shovel testing, test unit excavation, wet-screening, sorting, record-keeping, photography, GPS mapping, sketch mapping, and worksite maintenance as an individual or part of an archaeological crew. Geoarchaeologist SWCA Environmental Consultants (Pasadena)
We are seeking a Geoarchaeologist to join the cultural resources staff in our Pasadena, California office. Under supervision of the Archaeology Team Lead and in coordination with a Principal Investigator, a Geoarchaeologist collects data and interprets natural and cultural sediments and stratigraphy in support of archaeological studies, and describes the results of field studies in written reports, graphics, and report sections. The Geoarchaeologist will work with field personnel to insure that interpretations of soil stratigraphy are consistent and accurate. Other duties may include reviews of pertinent literature, preparation of background sections for reports, preparation of stratigraphic profile drawings, interpretation of stratigraphic sections from excavation units, trenches, cores and other exposures, and in-field and post-field analysis of sediment samples and cores.

Archaeological Field Technicians EcoPlan Associates
EcoPlan is seeking to fill multiple archaeological field technician contract positions for upcoming survey in southwestern Arizona. Two 10-day field sessions will be held between 14 November and 8 December, 2011, and two 10-day field sessions will be held between 10 January and 3 February, 2012. The ability to hike for up to 10 hours over potentially rough terrain is required of all crew. Surveys will take place in access-restricted remote desert areas, and crew camping is mandatory. Crew will provide their own personal camping gear and provisions. Water, limited sanitary facilities, and per diem are provided by EcoPlan.
